Well, it has been almost half way through my first year as a Yellowknife REALTOR®, so this is a good time for reflection! It has been a challenging, yet rewarding (those two words often go hand in hand in life) life experience changing careers, as many others have experienced before too. I trusted my intuition and advice from family/friends to take this “leap of faith” in late 2023, and I have to say that I have never before been filled with more purpose in my life! This is the right fit for my skillsets and personality, and this is ultimately the best way I can serve our community.
I have been truly overwhelmed by the support from fellow Yellowknifers from Day 1 of embarking on this journey and I can’t/won’t forget that! The majority of my clients (and in particularly the sellers that have chosen to list their homes with me) are childhood friends or were colleagues at the GNWT. The commonality is that we have developed strong relationships over time based on trust and some form of authentic connection, which has very much served us well in doing business together. As well, the referrals (from these clients) have been valued and I appreciate people sharing their networks with me.
Of course there have been some profound learning moments early in my new role, but I have recalibrated and grown stronger from every experience. I am always open to advice and ideas, so that I can become the best real estate agent possible!
Thank you for reading. I look forward to the growth ahead for the rest of this summer and cheers!
